Tyson Mao is an individual who is very widely known world wide for activities involving the Rubik’s cube. Tyson is mostly known for breaking the world record for a blindfolded Rubik’s cube solve in 2005.
Furthermore Mao is known to have solved the Rubik’s cube blind folded on CNN TV. He was a world class speed cuber in 2005. Tyson Mao is also in the Rubik’s Official Website. He is also a board member of the World Cube Association.
The World Cube Association is responsible for raising all the Rubik’s cube competitions. Jessica Fridrich is a female speed cuber who introduced the world to the Fridrich method. The invention and application of this method is largely responsible for much faster solves of the Rubik’s cube.
Today there are many world class speed cubers who can normally solve the Rubik’s cube under 10 seconds.

This time may not be anywhere near the record time for solving a Rubik’s Cube , but you have to consider his circumstances. During the 51 seconds he took to solve the cube he virtually upside down.
